I Dare You ~ How To Meditate Anytime Anywhere

Meditation Doesn't Have To Be Hard

I DARE YOU…take the leap into mindfulness.

Earlier today I was reading a great article in Mindful magazine titled Out Of The Box by Michael Krass and Lever Rukhur (April 2016 edition). The gist of the article is that we can meditate anywhere.

Unfortunately, I’ve come to understand that many of us have the impression, that the only way to practice mindfulness or meditation, is in a quiet room on a puffy pillow.

NOT SO!

Anywhere, Anytime, Any Way

That’s right, NOT SO! You can actually meditate anywhere, anytime. And the interviews in the article proved just that. Each person had their own personal meditation style or way of bringing mindfulness into their daily life.

Some had a driving meditation, while others chose to consciously slow down and admire the water on a noisy beach. Walking was a popular form, which can be done along a peaceful woodland path, or even walking down the busy street. One of the standouts was a private chef who would stop, close his eyes, stand in the kitchen and ground himself prior to beginning meal preparation.

See what I mean?

Meditation is so individualized, personal and completely in the moment – no meditation cushion needed.

You can actually meditate anywhere, anytime.

I Dare You

“So what’s the DARE?” you might be asking.

Well here it is…

  • I dare you to find just one space of stillness each day for the next 5 days.
  • It doesn’t have to be a long period of time. Try a simple two minutes.

I bet you’ll find that you’re enjoying it so much, that you want to do it longer.

That’s it! That’s all! And I know without a doubt you can do it.

Need Some Ideas?

If you aren’t quite sure where to start, take a quick look at this list of ways to meditate without meditating from Huff Post.  It’s helpful to get you thinking about how you can incorporate meditation into your daily no matter where you live or what you do.

Good luck!
